From Forest to Formula
The Bilberry Dream Cream begins with birch — Finnish birch sap at over half the formula by weight. Into it: Lion's Mane mushroom extract, cultivated rather than wildcrafted. Its beta-glucan polysaccharides — extracted by the same hot water method used for Chaga — have been studied for their ability to reduce transepidermal water loss. They help the skin hold what the cream delivers. The birch carries. The mushroom holds.
A clinically studied plant-derived humectant complex works at a different level entirely. At 3% — the clinical concentration — the humectant complex strengthens the skin barrier. One mechanism prevents water loss. The other optimizes distribution. Two complementary systems, designed to work together.
The Nordic Botanical Complex is present as a slow oil-infused maceration — yarrow, nettle, plantain, birch leaf, calendula, blackcurrant leaf, bilberry leaf. Seven plants, slow-infused until the oil carries what they know. This is the depth note. The sense that this cream has been tended rather than assembled.
Bilberry is the hero — in two forms. Cold-pressed bilberry seed oil contributes essential fatty acids to the skin's lipid layer. Bilberry fruit extract, standardized for anthocyanin content, brings concentrated antioxidant activity. The color you see is the extract — not decoration, but evidence of concentration. Black currant works silently alongside it, its distinct phytochemistry broadening the antioxidant spectrum without duplicating it.
Then, the active that makes this moisturizer genuinely different. A clinically studied silk-derived collagen peptide — upcycled, naturally derived, at clinical concentration — has been shown to visibly increase skin firmness and a more youthful appearance. (See hero ingredient for additional detail.) Most moisturizers hydrate. This facial cream hydrates and supports what your skin is already trying to rebuild.
The silk-derived hydrogels give the cream its non-sticky, cushioned texture — rich on application, absorbed without weight.
How to Use
Morning and night, after serum. Warm a small amount between fingertips and press — don't rub — into face and neck. This formula is generous; a little goes further than you expect. The moment of pressing it in is the moment the ritual begins.
Morning — after Birch Dew Daytime Serum. Evening — after Twilight Birch Nighttime Serum. For deeper nourishment: finish with Nordic Renewal Elixir 2–3 evenings per week.
